Known as the "Mother City," Cape Town is nestled in a beautiful bay beneath Table Mountain. Lying along the peninsula of the Cape of Good Hope, it's one of the oldest European settlements in South Africa; originally founded in 1652 by the Dutch East India Company. Today, it is home to South Africa's parliament and the majority of its industries.

Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve
This reserve occupies 7,750 acres of land, and serves to protect its indigenous flora and fauna. The dramatic sea cliffs that tower above the shoreline are among the tallest in South Africa.

Table Mountain
This flat-topped landmark offers stunning views of Cape Town and its surroundings via cable car. From the top, viewing decks that hang over the edge of the mountain provide dramatic photo opportunities.

The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront
This historic working harbor is South Africa's most visited tourist destination. Recently restored, the area provides a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment experiences.
