This cruisetour will take you to the most important sights of Italy. After a magical start in Venice you will travel to Tuscany by train. Here you will visit the fabulous Renaissance setting of Florence and take part in a wine tasting in the famous Chianti region. At the end of your land tour, you will visit ancient Rome and the Vatican before boarding your ship in Civitavecchia.
Day 1 Venice
Welcome to Italy! Arrive in magical Venice and enjoy a seamless transfer by motor launch to your comfortable hotel accommodations. Meet your Tour Director and traveling companions for a welcome drink. Overnight at a Venice Hotel.
Day 2 Venice
Wake up and satisfy your appetite with breakfast on us, then embark on a half-day guided walking tour of Venice. Highlights include St. Mark's Square and Doge's Palace. The remainder of your afternoon and evening are yours to do as you please. Breakfast included.
Day 3 Venice/Florence
Venture by train through the beautiful Tuscan countryside passing by gently rolling hills and picturesque landscapes en route to Florence. Arrive at your hotel late afternoon for check in. Tonight enjoy a hearty Tuscan dinner at a local restaurant. Breakfast and dinner included.
Day 4 Florence
Sightseeing today features the Duomo Cathedral, Ghiberti's Baptistery heavy bronze "Gate of Paradise" doors, Academy of Fine Art's with Michelangelo's greatest masterpiece, David. Walk to the Ponte Vecchio, Signoria Square and Santa Croce Square. Breakfast included.
Day 5 Florence/Rome
Enjoy a delicious breakfast before your motorcoach journey to San Gimignano where you'll have free time to explore the medieval town. Proceed to the Chianti area for wine tasting and lunch at a local restaurant. Check into your hotel in Rome later this afternoon with the remainder of your day and evening at leisure. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 6 Rome
Go back in time to ancient Rome with visits to the Coliseum and Roman Forum on your half day tour of Rome. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure to more fully explore the "Eternal City". Breakfast included.
Day 7 Rome/Embark ship
There's so much more ahead of you on your journey, so enjoy your final breakfast on land. From the Renaissance and Baroque eras, you'll marvel at the sprawling Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, the largest most awe-inspiring church in the world. After some free time to have lunch and do some last minute shopping in St. Peter's Square, make your way to meet your ship in the city of Civitavecchia. Breakfast included.
